A Political Conversation With Pokemon Boy

PB: I like McCain.
me: Oh yah?
PB: I think he'd make a good president.
me: Huh. What do you like about him?
PB: Well...he thinks things...like...that Obama doesn't.
me: Really? What kinds of things?
PB: [pause] Well...good things. I don't really remember but they said it on the news.

In all honesty, that's about as good a reason as any.

* Oh, and later in that conversation, he said "I think it's cool that, if he gets elected? The first woman vice president will get elected, too!" Pokemon Boy: supporting the chicks. Right on.

He's a smart boy to know about the VP. Back when I was his age I thought that the loser became vice president.

What a clever son you have.

I remember when Eisenhour was running for Pres, I was a young girl, and I ask my mom why all the people were wearing pins that said INK ((Ike)) Oh well, I wasn't as smart as Pokemon Boy.

Omigosh, Pokemon Boy has been taken over by Texan thinking...AGH!!!! Get him on a strict program of bottled water (I'm thinking Poland Springs..."what it means to be from Maine") and remove the r's from the alphabet magnet letters on the fridge NOW. It's not too late!!!

Too bad , Sara Palin will set women back by about 40 years if she gets in. So much for Roe v Wade, and everything else women have worked for!

I think Pokemon Boy has a more firm stance on the candidates than I do.

I think it's great that he's interested in politics and paying attention to the news at such a young age. I'm also glad he's too young to vote! But that's just me.

I'm going to try to get my kids to watch the presidential debate. Well, if it isn't postponed. I'll be curious to hear what they have to say.

LOL at Trish's comment!!! Love it!

I seriously love how much more aware kids are these days. When I was little, I could care less about politics. As an adult, I could care less about politics. However, with the state of our country, I finally have to sit up and notice. This is going to be an interesting election, that's for sure.
